The Club

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What happens once I register for The Club? A. Once you have registered, you must complete two more stays at Macdonald Hotels prior to receiving your membership pack, please remember to quote your membership number when checking out.
Q. How long does my application take to process? A. Applications are processed as soon as these are received, however please allow five working days to update.
Q. Can I claim for any previous stays once I have registered? A. No, you can only claim for 30 introductory points on your last stay before joining as a member. You can claim through your online account at the point of registration or via the online claim form. 
Q. How can I earn points? A. Points are allocated for all spend within the hotel, with the exception of leisure and golf membership fees and bookings made through third party retailers.
Q. How do I claim points for my spa treatment, or dinner reservation? A. This must be fulfilled directly at the hotel, the hotel will ask for your membership card and they will send your receipt on to The Club to be added, please allow five working days to update.
Q. How long does it take to allocate my points? A. Please allow five working days for points to be allocated.
Q. How I can check my balance online and how do I set this up? A. To check your balance online, please go to www.macdonald-hotels.co.uk/activation, you will be asked to enter a membership number, email address and password. If we do not have your email address, you may not be able to access online, please contact the club to update this information on 0344 879 9296.
Q. How do I redeem my points? A. Points can be redeemed for short breaks at Macdonald Hotels, or for a special treat such as, spa, golf or dining vouchers. Redemptions can also be made through a number of rewrads partners. Click here for more details on all of the rewards available when you join The Club.
Q. How many points are required to be able to redeem? A. Points redemption start from 120 points.
Q. What are the benefits of an Elite membership? A. Elite members are entitled to -
  • Room upgrade, subject to availability
  • Free newspaper
  • No room service tray charge
  • Exclusive offers from Macdonald Hotels and our lifestyle partners
  • Dedicated Elite email address and phone.
Q. How do I retain my Elite membership? A. Elite members are required to spend £1500+ or stay 15+ nights per year at Macdonald Hotels in order to be eligible.
Q. What happens if I do not meet the Elite requirements in one year? A. If you have not met the Elite requirements, your membership will be re-graded to Club level. As soon as you meet the Elite membership requirements, your membership would be re-graded to Elite again.
Q. Can I earn points on bookings made through online third parties or wholesale/tour operators? A. No, bookings made through online third parties or wholesale/tour operators do not qualify for points. These include (but are not limited to) our key partners which are Lastminute.com, Expedia, Orbitz, Booking.com, Laterooms and Superbreaks. All bookings must be made direct with Macdonald Hotels & Resorts to qualify for points.
